During 2024, we have implemented a series of strategic investments that reinforce this philosophy, translating each improvement into concrete benefits for our production processes and a superior experience for our clients.
Our investments in 2024
Laminating machine with solvent adhesives
One of Rieusset’s most important investments in 2024 has been the acquisition of a state-of-the-art laminator that uses solvent-based adhesives. This machine is an addition to our solventless laminator, allowing us to offer our clients the option of stronger and more durable laminates. The solvent-based laminator is capable of withstanding demanding processes such as pasteurization, sterilization and hot fills. This ensures that our products can be used in applications that require high resistance to both pressure and temperature without compromising the visual and functional integrity of the packaging.
To prevent solvent adhesive emissions from affecting the environment, this laminator incorporates a drying tunnel that evaporates the solvents and allows them to be properly treated before they reach the atmosphere. With this change, our processes not only comply with environmental regulations, but also go a step further by minimizing the impact of our activity. High speed rewinder
The new rewinder is synonymous with high performance, reliability and ease of use with consistent quality, providing a high degree of flexibility thanks to its modular design. This machinery can reach a speed of 800 meters per minute, which is double the speed of the current machines, thus representing a significant advance in productivity. Thanks to this investment, we will be able to optimize the workflow, reducing the time of the rewinding process –as well as the changeover time– and allowing us to carry out a greater number of production orders than we do today.
In addition, the new rewinder features improved ergonomics and safety, facilitating the work of our team and contributing to a safer and more comfortable working environment. This investment not only responds to the need to improve efficiency, but also shows our commitment to sustainability, as the rewinder is designed to consume less energy, therefore reducing our carbon footprint.
Upgrade of the Atlas 110 Die Cutter
Aware of the importance of keeping our machines in optimal condition, in 2024 we carried out an upgrade project on our Atlas 110 die-cutter. To this end, the maintenance and engineering departments collaborated with the external company SIPRO, who conducted a detailed analysis of the machine’s operation and carried out an upgrade of its entire electronic system. This upgrade has allowed us to keep the machine operational without having to replace it, which contributes to waste reduction.
This retrofit reflects our commitment to sustainability and efficiency. By avoiding the replacement of machinery, we reduce the costs and environmental impact associated with the production of new equipment. This project is a clear example of how Rieusset invests in the improvement and maintenance of our own resources while respecting the environment.
LED lighting system
Over the past year, we have made a complete transition to LED lighting in all of our facilities. LED lighting is a much more durable technology and requires fewer replacements than traditional lighting systems, which reduces waste generation and contributes to the sustainability of our facilities.
The implementation of this lighting system is one of Rieusset’s many initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon footprint. By opting for more efficient solutions, we comply with environmental standards and ensure a more cost-effective and planet-friendly operation.
High-capacity shelving for storage of raw materials
Another important investment this year has been the acquisition of new high-capacity shelving for storing our raw material. This system allows us to optimize the available space and improve the safety and ergonomics in loading and unloading.
The optimization of storage is essential to guarantee efficiency and organization in our plant. This shelving system represents an advance with regard to safety and functionality, ensuring that each step of our production process is carried out optimally and with the least possible impact to our work environment.
