The latest, La Enciclobirra, is a collection of 27 bottles that form the first drinkable beer encyclopedia, and Rieusset has been entrusted with printing the labels with the 27 variations in rotogravure.

The launch of “La Enciclobirra” is an extension of the experience offered by MEGA, the Estrella Galicia Museum, which is now at the beginning of its sixth season as a national reference point for the dissemination of beer. During the presentation, the museum’s director, Marta Rodríguez Gutiérrez, emphasized that “the objective is to continue offering a unique experience to our visitors, reinforcing our role as the ‘cathedral of beer’ in Spain. The Enciclobirra allows us to spread our message much further afield. MEGA will be in the hands of every Estrella Galicia consumer when they are enjoying beer, so we will continue to provide beer knowledge outside the museum’s facilities”.

This initiative seeks to transmit in a fun and educational way the brewing tradition and knowledge that the company has accumulated over almost 120 years, and it does so by offering information about key concepts of the brewing world on its labels. For example, the bottle with the letter ‘A’ explains the origin of the water (“agua” in Spanish) used by Estrella Galicia: “They say that Galicia is the land of water. Ours is 100% water from Cecebre”. Or the letter ‘L’, which describes the hops (“lúpulo” in Spanish), the flower that gives the beer its characteristic bitterness and aroma.

To create the labels for the Enciclobirra, Rieusset has opted for our rotogravure printing technology. Adapting the design has been one of the biggest challenges. Each of the 27 variations contains technical and cultural information on brewing terms, which means that a completely homogeneous print quality must be maintained in each of them.
In addition, it has been necessary for production to meet specific requirements in terms of volume and delivery times. Estrella Galicia has launched the collection in supermarkets and through the bigcrafters.com website in formats of six units, which implies “a massive production that has reached 10 million liters of beer” (according to Spain’s El Periódico newspaper, 2025).
