The 6 Benefits of commitment to the Company

Are we committed to our company? Are we, as employees, obligated to commit? These are complicated and awkward questions, but the tendencies in the field of Human Resources are changing, wherefore, on a personal level we will also have to change in order to adapt ourselves to the new approaches.

The reality in many companies is that we find people who carry out their functions adequately, but who are nevertheless not committed to the company. Following the new trends, sometimes it is not enough just to have qualified personnel doing their jobs, but rather what is needed is people who have a sense of commitment in order to increase their implication and strive more every day.

There are studies that show the benefits of having committed personnel:

  1. Positive impact on profit. It is proven that there is a direct correlation between motivation and profit.
  2. Increase in customer satisfaction
  3. Increase in productivity and efficiency. The most committed employees are more productive.
  4. More creative employees. Those who risk more strive to contribute original ideas that promote continuous improvement.
  5. Lower rotation level. It is essential that commitment be rewarded by superiors with positive recognition.
  6. Improvement of employee health and decreased absenteeism. These employees handle stress better, they miss fewer work days and they have fewer work-related accidents.

In Rieusset we are convinced of these benefits and this is why we are working in this direction:

  • In 2017 our goal is to start the Healthy Company project aimed at improving the health and well-being of our employees, as well as promoting the ‘health culture.’
  • This year there will also be incentives for participating in the area of proposals for improvement with prizes for the person with the most accepted proposals, for the most original proposal, and the proposal with the lowest cost and highest savings.
  • With the Policy of Recognition we intend to foster an environment in which higher management and collaborators recognize the merits of all of us workers, for the quality of our work, for our originality or creativity or for the passion shown in the performance of our jobs.
  • We consider that any person, regardless of their position, is an important source of information for identifying proposals for improvement in their work place and also any possible risks, for which they have forms at their disposal.
  • We encourage people to adopt a behavior of prevention, integrating it into their own productivity and the quality of their work.
  • Our company policy is based on providing a service to our customers with maximum efficiency, with a commitment to continuous improvement, guaranteeing a product with the basic parameters of the standards of Quality, Food Safety, Environment, and Occupational Health and Safety by which we abide.

It is true that a boss cannot obligate a worker to be committed, since commitment is a personal feeling, a choice, but will you commit? Let’s commit?
