Promotional labels: a great ally for brands

There is no doubt that packaging and labeling has evolved a great deal since its inception. It has gone from serving solely to contain, protect and transport the product, to being an essential marketing tool.

Nowadays, brands are fully aware that the way they present their products on the market can determine their success. For this reason, we find more and more original and creative labels, sleeves and flexible packaging whose aim is that of standing out on the shelf and capturing the attention of consumers. However, we not only see products with attractive packaging, with bright colors and unique finishes, but we also see products that use their labels to launch consumer promotions

Many times, these promotional labels are made in collaboration with other brands (co-branding), with sports clubs, or with successful series or movies (licensing) so that both the brand of the product sold and that of the collaborator benefit from the promotion, introducing their respective brands to new consumers and encouraging cross-selling of their products or services. Promotional labels have become a great ally for brands, as it is the most direct way of making their special promotions reach consumers (discounts, raffles, contests…) at the point of sale and thus encourage the purchase of their products.

Some of the brands that most use their labels for promotions are beverages, especially beer brands.

 

Examples of labels for occasional promotions

Next, we present a compilation of different promotional labels that we have produced in recent months:

Estrella Damm and PortAventura World

 Many brands want to link their image to concepts such as fun, entertainment and unique experiences. And what better way to do this than by creating a special promotion for an amusement park?

This is the case of Estrella Damm and PortAventura World. Both brands have carried out joint promotions on many occasions, especially for the spring and summer season or for special occasions, such as the PortAventura Halloween special.

For these promotions we print amusement park ticket discounts on the neck of the beer bottles. In this case, each Estrella Damm beer collar has a discount for admission to PortAventura World and you can get up to €20 per ticket.

This is an effective way of promoting the purchase of the product with a win-win situation for both parties, Estrella Damm and PortAventura World.

 

Ambar and the Astún and Candanchú ski resorts

 Ambar Beers took advantage of the ski season to launch a special promotion together with the Astún and Candanchú resorts, located in the Aragón Valley.

The promotion consisted of a 2×1 ski pass with insurance, so skiers could get two ski passes for the price of one. To achieve this, consumers simply had to enter the code that was printed on the back label of the Ambar beer bottles. These codes were then entered in the section of the web page that was created especially for the promotion. In total, 12,500 promotional codes were placed on the market distributed between Navarra, the Basque Country and Madrid.

Agua de Cuevas and Jurassic World

The promotion of children’s series and movies through labels has always been a classic. It is an effective way to capture the attention of kids and publicize a new film project.

This is the case of Agua de Cuevas and the children’s series Jurassic World: Cretaceous Camp. This past April, the characters of the series became the protagonists of the labels of the 33 cl sports cap bottles. The promotion consisted of a series of labels with different designs and collectibles.

At Rieusset it has been a pleasure being able to participate in this collaboration by printing the labels.

Estrella Damm takes you to Mestalla

If there is one sport that has true followers in Spain, this is football. For this reason, many brands decide to do special promotions with football clubs. One of the most common types is collaboration with beer brands since football matches are an ideal time to consume their product and they have always been closely related.

A great example of this type of promotion is “Estrella Damm takes you to Mestalla”. This was a very successful promotion that consisted of distributing a total of 9,804 tickets for the League matches and the first phase of the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup).

Estrella Damm and the Valencia Football Club launched the promotion to help Valencia fans get free tickets to cheer on their team at the Mestalla stadium.

The promotion consisted of collecting 30 Estrella Damm beer bottle collars to get a ticket for the VCF. The collars contained a unique code, which we printed with inkjet, and which had to be entered on their website in order to redeem the ticket.

 

Estrella Galicia and Money Heist

 Promotions of film projects not only work with children’s audiences. At Rieusset we had the pleasure of printing Estrella Galicia labels to promote the successful series Money Heist.

The beer brand created a special edition for the last season of the series showing the characteristic Dalí mask worn by the characters throughout all the episodes of the series.

The labels are part of the brand’s positioning campaign, with the slogan “The story ends, the resistance continues”. Estrella Galicia launched the bottles with promotional labels in 20 different countries in Europe and America.

Mahou and pin codes for experiences, raffles and contests

 Pin codes are the method par excellence for beer brands to launch promotions.

A clear example is Mahou, which does constant promotions for experiences, raffles and contests through the pin codes (or unique codes) that we print with inkjet on the collars of their beer bottles.

Each pin code is a point, which in turn is a participation in one of their active promotions. Depending on the type of beer (five stars or non-alcoholic) the pin codes expire sooner or later. The promotions that the brand carries out can be found on their website and you can participate in them by creating an account.
