10 Oct 1st year as sponsor of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of Santa Perpetua
We are celebrating our first year as sponsor of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of Santa Perpetua by interviewing Edurne Navarro, the club’s Technical Director, in order to evaluate this year. We hope there will be many more to follow!
- What is the Club’s assessment of Rieusset’s sponsorship ?
It is a very positive assessment after this first year of collaboration, in which we have worked hand in hand since the beginning. It has been a year in which we have noticed improvements and progress in large part thanks to this sponsorship by Rieusset. We have helped each other, and right from the start we have felt supported at all times.
- What are the objectives for the next season?
Every year we set some general objectives and other more specific ones. On this occasion, we have set some objectives with regard to internal operation and other technical ones aimed at results, training operation, number of gymnasts, quality of training, etc.
On the one hand, the internal objectives are: improving our management of social networks, the website, all administrative operations, process optimization, etc. We have been developing all this during the year.
On the other hand are the technical objectives with regard to results. This year we have made a spectacular climb and we want to maintain our position or even advance further. The idea is to stay at level 7 (pre-entry to a higher level, the one before the honor division), which is where we are now. This is the most important objective in terms of technical results.
- Which aspects do you think can be improved as far as the Club is concerned?
The most important thing is the mat, which is the carpet where the gymnasts practice and compete, wherefore it is essential. The one we currently have is very basic and we are constantly improving and increasing our level, so we need a carpet adapted to the level at which we are now. We are fighting for this and I hope that this year it can be achieved since it is a priority improvement. In addition to this we have to add all the equipment we need to practice our sport.
We also want to improve team training. We try to get the most out of the trainings offered by the federation or the Catalan sports council, but all of us want to attend and it would be ideal if not only the head trainers could go but also those that have joined lately so that they can retrain as well and thus always be up to date.
- Where do you see the Club in 5 years?
Considering the direction in which we are going, I think we will become a bigger club in terms of gymnasts. This will have to be accompanied by more coaches and good internal organization to make it work, so that everything goes hand in hand: the gymnasts and the technical team.
In fact, we can already see a change with regard to last year – we are growing slowly so that everything stays under control.
So, five years from now, if we are going to make this exponential growth little by little, I believe that we will have a big, consolidated club, with a good technical team, very well trained and of high quality.
With regard to visibility, we have already been in existence for 10 years, and I believe that in 5 years we will be recognized at the national level and we hope that everybody will know about us and who we are.
There are a lot of clubs that we like because of the way they operate; in Catalunya: Viladecans, Manyanet and Sant Cugat; at the national level: the cubs of the Basque Country and Comunidad Valenciana.
- Could you tell us which have been the most important milestones of this last season?
These are the most relevant milestones of the season:
– Classification for the Spanish Championship. In April we were in Pamplona at the National Youth Championship. Bruna Aixàs was the gymnast from our club who participated in the Catalan division and achieved a bronze classification in the Catalan Championship. In Pamplona she reached the 41st place from among 171 gymnasts from the Spanish territory.
– Meritxell Aixàs, senior gymnast at the Catalan Cup IV level, was Catalan champion in her category. She achieved the podium in all competitions.
– Creation of the club’s first youth team, which is preparing to try to become classified for the National Youth Team Championship in November. This means an investment of time, strategy and a huge effort, accompanied by enormous enthusiasm by all of us who are participating.
– The school gymnasts (the club’s future) have achieved the best results among the clubs of the county. We have 4 county champions and classifications among the first 6 in the Catalan Championship at the school level.
– The senior V team got silver in the final of the spring Catalan Cup for teams organized by the Catalan Gymnastics Federation. In the fall season they will compete with the same exercise for gold in the Catalan Championship.
- How has the Club improved thanks to its collaboration with Rieusset?
In comparison with other years, we have noticed a big change. This has been the season in which we have achieved the most noteworthy results with regard to results, number of trainers, systems, etc.
The collaboration with Rieusset has allowed us to advance more rapidly and in exactly the way we wanted; this is important since sometimes we cannot do what we want to do but rather what we are allowed to do. With Rieusset we are going in the direction that we want, not just economically but it has also made rhythmic gymnastics and our club more visible and this is important as well.
This sponsorship makes us stronger; it makes other clubs look at us in a different way. Clubs that have sponsors are perceived differently: if they have someone who backs them up, they are given more importance. Even the city council now takes us more seriously.
At the economic level, it has allowed us to compete with the youth team at international tournaments.
- Why did you decide that Rieusset is a good sponsor for the Club?
Rieusset is a company with many years of experience, from our area and with people-oriented values; but in addition to that, what’s crucial for me is that right from the beginning we understood each other very well. Both parties have the same ideas, since what we represent and the values with which Rieusset identifies itself are in tune with each other.
What’s most important and something that we value a lot is that we see a commitment on both sides. We have desire and enthusiasm, and we are all committed to work on each part.
- Which of Rieusset’s values do you value the most?
As I said in the previous question, Rieusset is a company that is people-oriented and that is what attracted us from the very beginning. However, what I really value most is the interest they have shown from the start in everything we do, their proximity and personal attention.
I think it is not just about an economic collaboration, but rather a step further. For example, members of the Rieusset team always attend our festivals, you follow us on social media, even Jordi López, the General Manager, mentions us on social media, providing encouragement. This is something that we value enormously and about which we are very excited. We are extremely thankful for this real accompaniment and their personalized treatment.
